Guiding each transition with care and connection

Postpartum Doula Care

The postpartum period is a time for recovery, bonding, learning, and adjusting to life with your new baby. Postpartum doula care offers compassionate, nonjudgmental support tailored to what you and your family need in the moment.

THE FOURTH TRIMESTER

Care for you, your baby, and the life changing around you.

Those first weeks can hold a lot at once—healing, getting to know your baby, navigating new routines, and finding your footing in a life that suddenly feels very different.

Having someone beside you who can quietly notice what would help can make that transition feel less overwhelming. Care might mean making sure you eat and rest, helping you feel more comfortable caring for your baby, or simply creating a little more space for you to settle into this new chapter.

BEFORE BABY ARRIVES

Postpartum care begins with a plan.

Your postpartum care includes a prenatal in-home visit so we can begin thinking about support before your baby arrives. Together, we’ll build a postpartum plan around your family’s needs, priorities, routines, and support system.

The visit also gives me a chance to become familiar with your space—where baby supplies are kept, how feeding and recovery areas are set up, household routines, pets and siblings, and the practical details that will help me step in naturally once your baby is here.

The goal isn’t to predict exactly what you’ll need. It’s to create a foundation of trust and understanding so that when your baby arrives, we can begin with greater ease.

POSTPARTUM SUPPORT

What postpartum care can include

Every family—and every postpartum day—is different. Select a service below to learn more about the ways care can meet you where you are.

Physical Recovery

Rest, nourishment + practical care while you heal.

EXPLORE +

Physical Recovery

Support your recovery after birth by creating time and space to rest, heal, eat, hydrate, and care for yourself. This may include preparing light snacks and beverages, comfort items, and keeping essentials within reach while you rest or feed your baby.

CLOSE −

Newborn Care

Hands-on care for baby while you rest and recharge.

EXPLORE +

Newborn Care

Hands-on newborn care gives you space to rest, sleep, shower, eat, or simply have a moment to yourself. Support may include diaper changes, soothing, feeding, burping, babywearing, and helping you become more confident with your baby’s individual cues and rhythms.

CLOSE −

Feeding Support

Judgment-free support for the way you choose to feed.

EXPLORE +

Feeding Support

Support for your family’s feeding choices, whether your baby is fed at the chest, by bottle, or through a combination of methods. This may include positioning and latch assistance, feeding cues, paced bottle feeding, bottle preparation, and establishing routines that work for your family. When needs extend beyond my scope, I can connect you with an IBCLC or other appropriate care provider.

CLOSE −

Emotional Support

Compassionate care for the transition into parenthood.

EXPLORE +

Emotional Support

A compassionate, nonjudgmental space to talk through the emotional transition into postpartum life and parenthood. I remain attentive to signs and symptoms of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and can help connect you with appropriate mental health professionals and resources when additional support may be beneficial.

CLOSE −

Home + Family

Practical support that helps your household keep moving.

EXPLORE +

Home + Family

Light household and family support can help keep your home comfortable and functional while you recover and adjust. This may include laundry, tidying, washing bottles and feeding supplies, light organization, essential local errands, and support for older siblings and pets.

CLOSE −

Partner Support

Guidance and reassurance for the people supporting you.

EXPLORE +

Partner Support

Partners and other support people deserve support as they adjust, too. I can demonstrate newborn care, answer questions, help them understand how to support the birthing or feeding parent, and offer a listening ear as they navigate their own transition into this new chapter.

You don’t have to choose between caring for your baby and being cared for yourself.

Postpartum support creates room for both.

CARE THAT ADAPTS

No two shifts need to look the same.

Your needs in the first days postpartum may be very different from what you need several weeks later. Each visit begins with where you and your family are that day, then we decide together where my support can make the biggest difference.

What might a visit look like?

One day that may mean caring for your baby while you sleep or shower. Another may center on feeding support, preparing something to eat, washing bottles, folding laundry, or talking through a difficult night.

As your confidence grows, support may shift toward helping a partner feel more comfortable with newborn care, tending to an older sibling, running an essential errand, or connecting you with a specialist when a need falls outside my scope of practice.
